Now is the time to invest in young people.

At The Sylvia Center, we are working with vibrant young people who are unleashing their potential — and it starts in the kitchen. We invite you to join us in an effort to inspire the next generation of healthy food advocates, food entrepreneurs and leaders in the culinary space.

By opening your kitchen and sharing your passion and expertise, you can open the doors to meaningful opportunities and inspire our students to reach for new possibilities through cooking and learning in the kitchen.

Join us.

Get Involved Join us in an effort to inspire the next generation of healthy food eaters, advocates and leaders in the culinary space:

  • Become an advocate for the Sylvia Center.
  • Interact, cook alongside, and inspire these young people by attending a class in New York City. You can also experience our farm and cooking classes at Katchkie Farm in Columbia County.
  • Become a member of our culinary council and help us with our fundraising efforts; create appetizers inspired by the curriculum, teach a class, and serve the appetizers alongside the students at our Annual Art of Cooking Benefit.

Connect with other Chef Ambassadors Previous culinary co-chairs and ambassadors include Anita Lo, Michael White, Patti Jackson, Sohui Kim, and Antonio Mora. Connect with past and current chef ambassadors at our annual gathering of chefs.
