Doreece Dyer has been a food educator for eight years at various institutions such as CUNY, Fortune Society, Queens Connect, and now The Sylvia Center. As an educator, she has worked to uplift and inspire people from all walks of life. As a chef instructor for Cuny, Kingsborough, Doreece teaches a culinary job training program to previously incarcerated individuals looking for a fresh start and a new career path through Fortune Society. Her work with Queens Connect is providing NYC young adults with DOH Food Handlers Certification and hands-on culinary experience. As a community chef instructor for The Sylvia Center’s Teen Culinary Apprenticeship program, Doreece empowers teens with the ability to build culinary skills and knowledge on nutrition, food access and food justice.
Doreece received her culinary degree from CUNY Kingsborough. When she is not busy as an educator, you can find her up at 2 AM creating cake and confectionary masterpieces for Rubies & Pearls, Teas and Treats.
