Jennifer John has led innovative programs that connect communities to improve the lives of children and youth for twenty years. As a facilitator of place-based partnerships, she has deepened the impact and increased sustainable support for initiatives that bring together diverse partners to drive positive change.
Most recently, as the Deputy Executive Director at Literacy, Inc., she shepherded strategic alliances that expanded their reach and raised the profile of the organization with an innovative neighborhood-focused engagement strategy to support young readers in developing the skills they need to thrive in the classroom. Jennifer previously led innovative programs that connected children and families to reading, always with the goal of improving the lives of children and youth.
As Regional Manager for the Bose Corporation, she partnered with local universities and the NYC Department of Education to launch the company’s STEM-focused music outreach program, In Harmony With Education, in the New York City region. Prior to that, she served as Senior Manager of Education for New York City Center developing performing arts curriculum for the stage’s premier artists. She received her Master of Arts in Performance Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and her B.A. from Texas State University.
Ms. John has a life-long love of food and cooking. She has written about cheese and dairy products, food trends and travel. She served behind the counter at Murray’s Cheese downtown and at the Grand Central Market.
