Before joining The Sylvia Center, Madeleine earned her BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Community and Environmental Sociology and International Studies with minors in French and African Studies. Her passion for breaking down the barriers to accessing healthy food stems from an internship with Community Groundworks in Madison, WI, where she learned the power of garden based education. During her college career she combined her international and food system interests through her studies in Dakar, Senegal and working on an organic farm in Brittany, France. A recent transplant to the Northeast, so far her thyme here can’t be beet!
