Morgan Blackburn joined the Sylvia Center in August 2019. As Development Director, Morgan collaborates with the Executive Director on the organization’s fundraising strategy, including business development, funding diversification, donor engagement and cultivation, foundation solicitation, special event planning, and marketing and communications.
Prior to joining the Sylvia Center, Morgan worked as the Development Director at StreetWise Partners, a non-profit that connects unemployed job-seekers with mentors to provide them with the skills, resources and access to networks needed to secure and maintain employment in the corporate workforce. Her main tasks included overseeing special events, foundation solicitation, corporate relations, expansion of the donor community, and marketing. Additional work experiences include Grace Institute, as well as interning for the Oklahoma State Senate Democrats, the ACLU of Oklahoma, and the National Security Project at the ACLU National Headquarters.
Morgan’s favorite food is Three Sisters Stew.
Doreece received her culinary degree from CUNY Kingsborough. When she is not busy as an educator, you can find her up at 2 AM creating cake and confectionary masterpieces for Rubies & Pearls, Teas and Treats.
