Margarita Garcia
Chef Educator
Originally from Colombia, Margarita is a food photographer, creative director, and longtime home cook who believes food can change lives. For over a decade, she’s worked at the intersection of food and visual storytelling–helping people connect to what they eat through beautiful, vibrant imagery. Whether she’s behind the camera or in front of a classroom, Margarita sees food as a powerful tool for communication, health, and community. She brings that energy to her work with The Sylvia Center, where she hopes to inspire young people to explore cooking and make confident, healthy choices. When she’s not in the kitchen, Margarita is probably on her bike (she’s a cycling enthusiast), hiking with her dog Mario, or chasing around her two cats, Paco and Lupe.
