Chef Assistant
Janeil is a Chef Assistant with The Sylvia Center and a fourth-year Nutrition and Dietetics student at New York University, minoring in Child Development and Social Intervention. Originally from Mount Vernon, NY, she hopes to become a registered dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. Janeil is passionate about prevention, helping young people learn to manage Type 2 diabetes, and build healthy habits through food. She loves working hands-on in the kitchen and with students at The Sylvia Center—and when she’s not cooking, you’ll likely find her crocheting stuffed animals.
