A student at Hudson Senior High School, 16-year-old Athena first came to The Sylvia Center through our middle school program at Perfect Ten in Hudson. She later helped us cook dinner for the kids at Hudson Youth Center, before joining our event team to produce and serve seasonal bites at our annual Farm Event (where she also made a moving speech to our supporters!) Before joining The Sylvia Center, she worked with Operation Unite, gaining experience in everything from gardening and drumming to tutoring and customer service. At school, Athena is active as President of the Multicultural Club, Vice President of Model UN, and a member of the Photo Club, Tri-M, and the National Honor Society. For her, cooking is both creative and calming—a way to express herself and share joy with others. When she’s not assisting in our programs, Athena loves shopping, baking, and trying new recipes.
