Dimitra joined The Sylvia Center as a Chef Educator in 2025, bringing with her a deep belief in the power of food, movement, and community to foster hope and connection. Originally from Queens and of Peruvian and Greek heritage, she grew up with two grandmothers who sparked her love for cooking. Dimitra began her career in medical research before shifting into wellness and education, teaching yoga for the past two years. Her own experiences with health challenges as a young person have shaped her commitment to holistic care and youth empowerment. In the kitchen, she loves to experiment with new flavors and share meaningful meals with others, and she’s excited to continue that journey with the TSC community.
