John was born in Athens, Georgia, raised in Florida, and now lives in Queens. A proud alum of The Sylvia Center’s Teen Culinary Apprenticeship (TCA), John joined the program looking for a new challenge and walked away with skills he uses every day: from kitchen confidence to communication and teamwork. Now, as a Chef Assistant with TSC, he’s excited to support new TCA participants as they begin their own food education journeys. He brings energy, humor, and a deep appreciation for trying new things–especially when it comes to food. Fun fact: John is a former speed-eating contest champ and proud owner of a cotton chicken suit.
