Selina Preyer-Blakney

Community Chef and Program Development & Evaluation Coordinator

Selina’s passion for food has been apparent since very early in life which led her to attend the Culinary Institute of America.  She received a BPS in Baking and Pastry Arts Management and went on to manage various food service establishments. During her time as a catering manager, she realized that she also had an intense passion to inspire people to eat what they love in a way that is healthy and accessible for them.  She returned to school for nutrition and became a Registered Dietitian in 2018 and received her MS in Applied Nutrition in 2019.  

As Program Development and Evaluation Coordinator, Selina is able to explore two major passions, writing and numbers.  She designs curriculum that will not only inspire our youth and adolescents, but challenge them to think outside the box.  She aims to collect meaningful data with our evaluations that will help to shape the future of the Sylvia Center and allow for continued program success.  Selina is also an adjunct professor of food science at the Sage Colleges and enjoys in her free time, cooking and running.
