Farm Event 2025

This year’s Farm Event was a true celebration of community, purpose, and possibility. The evening brought together supporters, partners, and friends of The Sylvia Center for an unforgettable night. Led by TSC founder Liz Neumark and board member Lynn Cole, the evening’s program highlighted the heart of our work—helping young people build confidence and skills through healthy cooking. Cooks for Health Teen student Athena, from our partner site Perfect Ten in Hudson, bravely stepped up to the mic to deliver a speech to guests about her experience with our programs, reminding us exactly why this work matters.

Guests also enjoyed a farm-fresh buffet, generously donated by Great Performances, with live music from Hudson-based duo Sound of Somewhere adding to the festivities. A lively auction saw the highest bidders win an exclusive private dinner with Chef Hannah Wong of Haema Hospitality, and a personally curated box of farm-raised heritage pork from Lovers Leap Farm.

Your support helps us empower young people and families to lead healthier lifestyles, and we can’t do this work without you. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we had an amazing day. Click here to see the photo album!

Art of Cooking Gala

On Wednesday April 2, The Sylvia Center had a wonderful celebration with new and longtime friends at The Art of Cooking benefit gala at The New York Historical. We raised over $550,000 for our nutrition and culinary programs for youth and families!

Thank you to our honoree Alicia Glen, for being a champion for our communities, Adam Kaye for curating a sustainable and delicious menu, and Salvatore Rizzo for leading us through a lively auction. Huge shoutout to our teen apprentices from our Work-Based Learning program who beautifully shared their story with a room of over 200 guests and whipped up delicious plant-based small bites featuring premium ingredients from FOODMatch + Divina.

Many thanks to our sponsors, supporters, guests, Board of Directors, Culinary Council, and staff. We can’t do this work without you. Thank you!
