Kate Ray is a programmer turned chef, who built software for social impact organizations before giving up the screen to get into the kitchen. She studied at the Institute of Culinary Education’s Health-Supportive Program (formerly the Natural Gourmet Institute) and worked at Dominique Ansel, Dirt Candy, and Archestratus. Her goal is to help people learn to trust their own tastes in the kitchen and express themselves through cooking. She writes about intuitive cooking and eating for her newsletter soft leaves, and develops weekly plant-based recipes for subscribers. She lives in Brooklyn with her family.
