Madeleine Fischer is an Urban and Regional Planner with a focus on community food systems planning. Her passion for food and cooking began with her work on youth education farms, vegetable production farms, and working in the kitchen with her family as a kid. She found The Sylvia Center in 2017, and learned the bulk of her cooking and nutrition skills during her three years as Program Coordinator and Program Manager for Upstate programs. Maddie now lives in Colorado where she teaches virtual family and elementary school cooking classes. She holds a B.S. in Community and Environmental Sociology and International Studies with a Certificate in French from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado-Denver.
