Bridging the Gap: Connecting Our Communities to Fresh Food

By December 8, 2020July 22nd, 2021News

This year has brought challenges like never before. COVID-19 has disrupted our local food systems, preventing New Yorkers from accessing fresh, healthy, and affordable food.

Early reports show that nearly half of parents across New York are concerned about access to meals and food for their children.

The Sylvia Center has partnered with corporate and community organizations to provide fresh food kits – packed with local, fresh fruits and vegetables – to our students and families.

Each kit contains ingredients that correspond to a weekly virtual cooking class, helping families make the most of their ingredients.

Your donation today allows The Sylvia Center to grow our high-impact programming and provide more pathways for our communities to access and learn about fresh, healthy food.
