THE FARM TEAM PRESENTS:
A Sylvia Center Cooking Class

BEHIND THE SCENES AT GREAT PERFORMANCES

Mae Mae Café, 68 Vandam Street, NYC (between Hudson and Varick)

Wednesday, March 23, 2016
6:30 – 8:30pm

Join the The Sylvia Center for an evening of convivial cooking in the headquarters of NYC’s leading caterer, Great Performances. We will start with refreshments in Mae Mae Cafe, and then walk into GP’s central kitchen for a hands-on cooking class with GP chefs and The Sylvia Center’s staff and students. Guests will learn to make small Asian bites like papaya salad, summer rolls, dan dan noodles and more. Then we’ll return to Mae Mae next door to dig into the feast we made and learn more about TSC’s programs that inspire young New Yorkers to cook and eat well.

At this cooking class for a good cause, you’ll meet others who are passionate about making good, healthy food accessible to all, including members of TSC’s young professional supporters group, The Farm Team. You’ll also hear from some of TSC’s teen students who have gone on to teach healthy cooking in their own communities, and learn how you can get involved.

Proceeds from this event will support The Sylvia Center’s Cooks for Health program for youth, teens, and families at the Red Hook Miccio Community Center in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
