Building on its recent growth, The Sylvia Center (TSC) welcomes three new members to its Board of Directors in 2023. These new members are deeply passionate about delivering on TSC’s mission to promote a healthy lifestyle for young people through culinary education. A diverse group of industry leaders, Peter Mensch, Ayesha Nurdjaja, and Adrien Rios bring unique skills and expertise in business management, marketing, operations, and culinary to The Sylvia Center. Their contributions will further enhance The Sylvia Center’s growth trajectory and advance its vision to promote health and well-being for our young people to prevent diet-related diseases.

Peter Mensch is the co-owner/founder of Q Prime, a music management firm based in NYC. He has guided the careers of multiple music artists since 1979. Peter has decades-long skills in music industry management-marketing and branding.

 

The Sylvia Center’s mission dovetails perfectly with my passion for simple, delicious food, my joy in gathering and building community around the proverbial table, and my delight in teaching the next generation. I am excited about working with them to make a difference.
Ayesha Nurdjaja is the Executive Chef/Partner at Shuka and Shukette and is known for her vibrant Eastern Mediterranean fare. She is recognized as a 2022 James Beard Award: Best Chef New York finalist. Her entrepreneurial spirit coupled with her talent and passion for food and cooking, has been a driving force behind her remarkable success in the culinary industry.

Adrien Rios is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience leading operational support teams at Bloomberg L.P. He has held various leadership positions, developing and implementing large-scale programs and initiatives in customer service, technology, facilities, and hospitality.
