We’re delighted to welcome Rachel Cytron as The Sylvia Center’s Interim Executive Director.
Rachel brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience in youth development, education, and afterschool programming. Throughout her career, she has helped mission-driven organizations strengthen their operations, grow their impact, and navigate periods of change with clarity and purpose.
Rachel has held senior leadership roles at several New York City nonprofits, including Executive Director of Row New York, Chief Operating Officer of Partnership with Children, and Associate Executive Director of DREAM (formerly Harlem RBI). She brings deep expertise in organizational leadership, staff development, program strategy, evaluation, and fundraising, along with a strong commitment to building positive workplace cultures where both people and programs can thrive.
Over the past two years, Rachel has worked as a consultant and interim leader, supporting nonprofits through leadership transitions and organizational change. As The Sylvia Center begins the search for its longterm Executive Director, Rachel will help guide the team through this important period, and support our continued growth and impact.
Rachel lives in Manhattan with her husband and two teenage daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys reading with her book clubs, traveling with her family, and taking spin classes.
Please join us in welcoming Rachel to The Sylvia Center. We’re excited for the experience, leadership, and perspective she brings as we continue our mission of inspiring young people and families to embrace healthy eating through the power of cooking.
