This versatile salsa is one of our students’ favorites. It’s the perfect homemade condiment to accompany our taco recipe!
Yields about 1 cup
6-7 tomatillos, husked removed
1-2 serrano chiles, seeds removed if desired
3 garlic cloves
¼ cup of cilantro leaves, stems removed
½ teaspoon of cumin
- Preheat the oven 450˚F or turn on broiler.
- Place tomatillos, chilies, and garlic on a parchment lined sheet pan. Place it in the oven and bake (or broil) until tomatillos are brown.
- Place the tomatillos, chilies, garlic, cilantro, and cumin in a blender. Blend until smooth. Season with salt to taste.
